Handler confirms the decision isn’t about the Principal’s potential crimes, but rather the ALT’s “rude” violation of the school’s strict strict ‘No WikiLeaks’ policy.
KOSHIGAYA, SAITAMA,
The contract of Liam Davies (25), a dispatch ALT for Inter-heart Kanto branch, has been abruptly terminated just days after he pointed out that his Elementary School Principal used his official .ed.jp government email address to correspond with associates of Jeffrey Epstein.
The incident occurred last Tuesday during a six hour block of “desk warming,” a mandatory activity where ALTs must stare at the large blackboard to show they are mentally passionate about the school schedule. Bored out of his mind, Davies was browsing the latest WikiLeaks dumps on the staff room computer.
“I was CTRL+F-ing for random keywords,” Davies told me, while frantically listing his washing machine on the Sayonara Sales Facebook group. “And then I saw it. In a leaked contact list labeled ‘Little St. James • VIP Guests’. There it was: [email protected].”
Davies claims the entry also included the Principal’s full name, his phone number, and a request for “vegetarian meal options.”
Shocked, Davies immediately approached the Kyoto Sensei, assuming the Board of Education would want to know that the man in charge of 400 children was apparently on a first name basis with Ghislaine Maxwell.
“I showed him the screen. I pointed to the @higashi-koshigaya-elem.ed.jp domain,” Davies said. “The Kyoto Sensei looked at it, sucked air through his teeth for a solid thirty seconds, and then asked me if I had prepared the flashcards for the 3rd graders’ fruit lesson.”
The retribution was swift.
Instead of an investigation into Principal Tanaka, Davies received a call from his dispatch handler, “Kenji,” three hours later.
“Kenji didn’t ask about Epstein,” Davies explained. “He asked why I was on WikiLeaks during work hours. He said using the school server to access ‘conspiracy sites’ is a violation of the dispatch contract’s Article 9, Section C: Maintaining a Pure and Cheerful Atmosphere.”
In a leaked email sent to Davies, Inter Heart management wrote:
“Dear Liam San. We have received a complaint from the school. You showed the Kyoto Sensei ‘difficult English text’ involving a very sensitive VIP topic. This caused the staff room atmosphere to become ‘dark.’ Also, accessing non educational websites is strictly prohibited. We cannot renew the contract of an ALT who breaks cyber manners. You have 5 days to leave your apartment. Please clean the air conditioner filter before you go.”
When reached for comment, the Board of Education declined to discuss the specific email address found in the leaks, stating only that “The Principal is a man of high moral character who is not very good with computers. Perhaps he thought he was signing up for a golf newsletter.”
Principal Tanaka remains in his position and was seen this morning giving a 45 minute speech to the students about the importance of “following the rules.”
Davies, meanwhile, is technically now an illegal overstayer as of next Monday.
“I tried to go to the Labor Standards Bureau,” Davies said, taping a ‘FREE’ sign to a dirty microwave. “But they said since I’m a dispatch worker, I technically don’t exist. So, yeah. Japan is amazing.”
